A home-grown product that's top of the class

In these times of economic turmoil and trade war, it's important to look at and buy what's made here, instead of elsewhere.

Since the arrival of the first LiveScope system in 2018, Garmin has sold tens of thousands of real-time scanning fishfinders that provide instant images of fish. Other companies have also followed suit.

A little hitch

The only problem with the various probes is that there are far too many hull shapes for manufacturers to develop a universal bracket to suit all boat morphologies. Panoptix purchasers need to buy an arm that holds the probe in the right place.

I've been a real LiveScope enthusiast since day one. The technology and the way the machines work are mind-blowing.

As for the mounting brackets, that's another story. I've brought in, via specialized sites, poles that would have earned themselves a score of less than 30 %.

Brackets are made from solid aluminum rods machined to a precision not exceeding 1/1000° tolerance.

They fit into each other to adapt to any boat configuration or ice hole depth. Pins secure everything.

A super-strong retaining plate screws into the rail on some hulls, or directly onto the gunwale. It can then be easily removed and a tripod fitted to secure it in place on the ice.

The top handle is made of black anodized aluminum, foldable. Its shape and the arrows incorporated into the design make it easy to use. probe and beam orientation. Cable ties hold the supply wire in place along the support.
